The TARDIS experiences trouble near a black hole, and Rose and the Doctor encounter the mysterious Ood. Rose fights the Ood, and the Doctor weighs a sacrificial decision as the planet is on the verge of falling into the black hole. People begin to vanish from a group devoted to learning more about the Doctor and Rose after the mysterious Victor Kennedy gets involved. Rose and the Doctor visit London in the near future to watch the Olympic games, and learn that the disappearances of children may be linked to a little girl's drawings. The living welcome the return of the dead, but the ghosts may not be what they seem as the Doctor seeks answers at the Torchwood Tower. Torchwood Tower becomes the staging ground for a war on Earth between the Cybermen and the Daleks, which results in a loss for the Doctor.
